here I am in a little cottage that evokes the energies of my ancestral lands - a cottage on the moors of Cornwall, or on the cliff tops of Ireland or Scotland. It has a hearth. I am a hedge witch {of sorts}. I wear upcycled clothes, patchouli oil and Redback boots. I am a gypsy; an eccentric and a mystic [I often live with a foot in two worlds]. I serve my guests, tea from an old silver teapot. I love Vervain, yarrow, chamomile & mint. the day I met Lydia

today was a very, special day for me. I met Lydia. Daisy's daughter. after being in touch via the net for a number of years, the time came when I actually got to meet her.

such a lovely, caring girl.. no wonder her mum called her 'Sweetpea'
we spent the day with her, driving through gorgeous villages. [but first of all, we went to buy some 'wellies'... for the rainy days] and you know, the meeting was easy, no awkwardness of those first meetings, just kinda chatty all day. she took us along so many lovely narrow roads, places that we would not have seen otherwise, I am sure

along roads lined by the hedgerows that I am beginning to love,

over bridges
and past more beautiful scenery.

this was one of Daisy's much loved places - I can see why she loved it so much

a simple day I guess, but one full of special moments - past and present

a year later - 2013
that day was special. Lydia and I are still friends [on facebook].
I still remember the gorgeous old bridges and hedgerows. And I will say that looking back, a year later, Cumbria is one of my favourite places that I got to visit.

    Oh, Robyn...what a special day for you. I'm so happy that you got to meet "Sweetpea" and see the places that Daisy loved so much. I always think about her riding the bus and telling about the other people riding along with her. Daisy was great at telling stories and making us all a part of her life.
